Critical acclaim for recordings and performances
Pianist Dr. Quynh Nguyen trained at The Juilliard School and Mannes College, and completed a Fulbright Fellowship to the Paris Conservatoire. She has been recognized as one of Musical America’s “19 Young Stars of Tomorrow” and performs regularly at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and in concerto with the Seattle and London Symphony orchestras.
Released on Bastille Day, The Flower of France is a landmark recording of Germaine Tailleferre’s works for piano the only female member of Les Six spanning music composed between 1912 and 1975. The album earned a Gold Medal from the Global Music Awards and is available on the Music & Arts label.
Her second recent release, Paul Chihara: Complete Piano Works on Naxos’s American Classics series, features the world-premiere recording of the Concerto-Fantasy with the London Symphony Orchestra alongside the Bagatelles, Four Reveries on Beethoven, and Ami.
Together, the two albums chart a singular path from the elegant salons of 20th-century Paris to a deeply personal portrait of a living Japanese-American composer each brought to life by a pianist praised for her “sensitive, poetic, communicative playing.
